#Green Shipping Summit

The push towards shipping sustainability continues, it only changes its target, feeling no consequences from the pandemic. Will the request to further reduce sulfur emissions lead to the imposition of an Ultra-Low sulfur zone in the Mediterranean? The most ambitious, difficult and potentially disruptive goal is the reduction of CO2 emissions, as required by the European plan for reaching carbon-neutrality by 2050. To achieve this goal, we need technological innovations, new fuels, new propulsions, combined with the research for energy efficiency and the reduction of the environmental impact of maritime transport at 360 degrees.

  • Reduction of short-term CO2 emissions: energy efficiency on board
  • Wrap-up and perspectives on low-sulphur transition
  • The reduction of fuel consumption through better hull shaping
  • Synthetic and bio-based fuels: a possible solution for carbon neutral shipping?
  • The future of the past: winds and currents for ship propulsion
  • The roads to carbon-free: batteries, fuel cells, ammonia, and….
  • Hydrogen as a fuel and storage and refill issues: bunkering or on-demand on-site production?
  • The impact of shipping beyond propulsion: problems and solutions
